Friday for Mac Your bots, on your own machine

Meet Friday

Brief a bot the way you would brief a colleague and let it get on with the job. Your bots get a computer of their own, sign in to the tools you already use and come back with the work done.

A chat for every job you hand off

Each bot lives in its own chat, so you can start something from your Mac or your phone and it keeps going after you close the app. Check in whenever you like, or let it message you when something needs your call.

  1. 1

    Install Friday on your Mac

Friday is one app that runs its own server and gives your bots a computer using the virtualization built into macOS, so there's nothing else to install. Nothing you tell your bots goes through a Friday cloud.

  2. 2

    Connect the AI you use

Sign in with Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot or SuperGrok, or paste an API key. Your bots think with that account.

  3. 3

Meet Friday, then build your team

Friday, your assistant, gets to know you and suggests the bots worth adding. Message them like colleagues and they work on their own computer, messaging you back on your Mac or iPhone.

  1. 1

    Computer

    A computerof its own

Your bots work on a real desktop with a browser and a terminal, so they can use websites and apps the way you do. Open the screen at any time, take over to sign in somewhere, then hand it straight back.

    Research Needs you
  2. 2

    Routines

    Routines that run themselves

Ask for something once and put it on a schedule. Your bot runs it on time and messages you with what it found.

    • Inbox summary Inbox Weekdays, 18:00
    • Weekly recap Friday Saturday, 06:00
    • Flight price check Travel Every 6 hours
  3. 3

    Memory

It remembers how you like things

Tell a bot once that a client only signs annual contracts, or that build alerts can wait until morning, and it carries that into every task after.

    Ledger

Noted: payment monitor alerts only matter when several fail close together, so I'll skip the single ones from now on.

    Ledger's memory updated

  4. 4

    Teamwork

    Bots that work together

Give each bot its own job and let them pass work between themselves. Your assistant asks Travel for flights and Inbox for the confirmation email, and you only see the result.

    Messaged Travel

    Messages from Inbox and Travel

Travel found a direct flight under your budget and Inbox confirmed the hotel. Both are in your calendar.
  5. 5

    Apps

Connected to the apps you use

Connect your apps once and every bot you allow can use them. Many, like Notion, Linear and Supabase, take a single sign in, and for the rest a bot signs in on its own computer, the same way you would.

  6. 6

    Models

Runs on the AI you already pay for

Sign in with the subscription you have, or paste an API key, and your bots use it directly. Friday doesn't sit in the middle of your model bill.

Bots that text like a colleague

A quick question gets a quick answer, and when there's more to say it comes in short messages you can reply to, with buttons for the obvious next step. When a bot needs your call it shows you the one thing to decide, so you never have to dig through an essay to find it.

A quick question

Did the landlord reply?

The checkout bug is still there and nobody has picked it up. I can fix it now.

Your bots come with you on iPhone

The iPhone app has the same chats as your Mac, so you can brief a bot on your way out and answer it when it has a question. If it needs you to sign in somewhere, open its computer from your phone and take control for a moment.

To set up your phone, sign in with your Friday account, or scan the code in Friday's settings on your Mac. After that it reaches your Mac from anywhere, on Wi-Fi or mobile data.

What that looks like

A week with a few bots on your side

Privacy and control

You're always in charge

Friday runs on your own Mac, so your bots, their computers and their history live with you rather than in somebody else's cloud.

Your machine
Conversations, memory and files stay in a database on your Mac, and Friday backs them up there every few hours. What leaves is what your bots send to the AI provider you picked and to the apps you connect.
Approvals
When an action needs your approval, the bot stops and asks, and you can answer from your Mac or your phone.
A sealed computer
Your bots' computer is a small virtual machine on your Mac, kept apart from your files unless you choose to share something with it.
Everything visible
Open any bot's screen, read its activity, stop it mid task or take over the keyboard yourself.

Try Friday early

Friday for Mac and iPhone is almost ready. Leave your email and we'll send you a TestFlight invite when the first build is out.

You're on the list. We'll email you when your invite is ready.

That didn't go through. Please try again.
